I can sync Yahoo calendar to iPhone. Is it possible to go the other way? iPhone to Yahoo calendar when I am away from my PC?

    • iPhone Expert says:

      Dear Becky,

Sure, in your iPhone Settings, go to Mail->Contacts->Calendars and set your default calendar as Yahoo!
Your new iPhone events will automatically be added to your Yahoo! Calendar

      • Nick says:

Thank you so much!! So many query responses were so complicated or did not answer this question – you did, and so simply – thank you so much!!

    • Linda says:

hi.. I was having the same issue and your fix worked – but only for new events as you said in your post. How can I upload my entire iphone calendar to my yahoo calendar? Including past events. Thank you.

      • iPhone Expert says:

        Dear Linda,

Try this (unfortunately, you will have to do this for each event that did not upload)

        – Open your iPhone calendar app
        – Select the event you want to upload to Yahoo calendar
        – Tap “Edit”
        – Scroll down to “Calendar”
        – Select your Yahoo calendar
        – Tap “Done”
        – “Done” again
The dot next to the event should change from blue to yellow
        – Finally, check your Yahoo calendar and the event should be there
        All set!

When I sync my Iphone with Microsoft outlook the time in my computer changes by one hour either more or less since day light savings time. What can I do?? Thank you.

    • iPhone Expert says:

      Dear Mary,

      Strange.

I would recommend to doublecheck the time zone settings of both your iPhone and computer.

  3. Kelli says:

My husband and I both have iPhones, both use Yahoo for email and use the same computer. When I sync my phone, I get all his contacts from Yahoo and he gets all of mine. If there a way to only get our own contacts? We have separate email accounts but use the same computer.

    • iPhone Expert says:

      Dear Kelly,

Make sure you log out from one Yahoo! account and log in the other before synchronizing, that should solve the problem.

    • Lou says:

I think it would work better if you and your husband had separate logins on the same computer.

  4. Suz says:

My iphone does sync with my Yahoo calendar but I cannot see the events of those people I share my calendar with. The name is there….the color dot is there….just not the actual events. The events do show up online, but not on my phone.
    Thank you for helping me!!!

    • iPhone Expert says:

      Dear Suz,

You need to change the Sync settings for your calendars:

      – On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars
      – Scroll down to “Sync” and try to change the setting: if it’s set to “All Events”, set it to a specific duration and if it’s set to a specific duration, set it to “All Events”
      – Try to sync again, you should now see your events

  13. Laura says:

I want to have my yahoo contacts on the iPod touch, I was able to sync them but I don’t want all the yahoo contacts on the iPod/in future iPhone but only a list with certain contacts. How can I sync a list and not all contacts?
What is strange about this, is, that I neither can’t select “sync Lists” (and then choose the list) in iTunes but I can only select “sync all contacts”. But I do have lists in my yahoo account!

And if I change contacts or delete contacts at the computer, the iPod doesn’t sync that but keeps all old contacts. Even if I clear the cookies as described above…

I can’t find any solution in the internet, so maybe you could help me?

    • iPhone Expert says:

      Dear Lisa,

Make sure to update to iTunes 10, which should solve the problem

If it does not, your best bet for two-way synchronization between your email account and iPhone is to use Gmail and Google Sync

      Dear Winsely,

As far as I read online, losing passwords seems to be an iPhone issue
Hopefully fixed with the next software version

Since changing my yahoo email address I ma having trouble syncing. When I try to add a calDAV account I am required to give a server address. smtp.yahoo.com cannot be verified. Any suggestions?

    • iPhone Expert says:

      Dear Ian,

      This page should help you

Other than that, these are the settings you need to enter to set up your Yahoo CalDAV account

      Use SSL, port: 995
      * Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication.

      mail.btinternet.com (POP3)
      mail.btinternet.com (SMTP)

      incoming- pop.mail.yahoo.com
      outgoing- smtp.mail.yahoo.com
      server requires authentication-checked
      advanced tab
      Outgoing-465 SSL Checked
      Incoming-995 SSL Checked

  19. Ashley says:

I recently opened up a yahoo account for business purposes and tried syncing it with my iphone. For some reason when I type in my password which is 6 characters and press verify, it’ll go through but then when I check the mailbox it swears it is synced however none of my messages show up. When I then go back into mail settings to make sure everything is okay, it shows the password being 8 or 10 characters. I have tried deleting the account on my iphone and reinstalling it but everytime this happens. Am I doing something wrong? Why won’t it show up on my iphone?

  20. jer says:

So I got the iphone 3gs from at&t and have set up my yahoo email and calendar and outlook email from work BUT. When I try to send an email the only contacts I see are the Outlook contacts from work. None of my yahoo contacts are avaliable. My Yahoo calendar syncs up and seems to work fine so why are my contacts not available on my iphone?
I saw the steps above but was afraid they would mess up my calendar settings???
    Any advice would be great!

  21. David says:

Hello. I can add events on my iphone that will show up on my Yahoo calendar. However, when I add events to my Yahoo calendar, they do not show up on my iPhone. Any suggestions?

    • iPhone Expert says:

      Dear David,

Just add your Yahoo! mail account to Outlook and from there you’ll be able to sync Yahoo! calendar events to iPhone

If this does not work, download Yahoo Autosync, sync to local copy of Outlook and from there to your iPhone

  22. m otwell says:

I have iphone 3G, use windows vista, and use yahoo for contacts, calendar, etc Since upgrading to newest version(s) of iphone, and getting iCloud, sycning has caused major contact problems. My contacts are in iCloud, but my contacts on my iphone are duplicate/triplicate, and new contacts added either place are not showing up.I’ve tried turning off iCloud (but am concerned my calendar syncing will stop.) I also use a contacts app, and it’s pulling my duplicates into it (creating multiple groups, etc..). Can’t figure out what I need to do to setup to fix this. I’ve never entered in carddav acct (don’t understand that), but I had never had problems syncing between desktop for contacts, and the calendar just synced by itself. Read multiple discussion threads about known issues b/w yahoo and new iphone software. Is gmail better, and if so, can i still use yahoo for email/calendar, but sync gmail for contacts?? Does Mac store offer assistance in doing this stuff?

    • iPhone Expert says:

      Dear M,

This is indeed a known issue with iCloud

There are apps (unfortunately not free) to remove duplicate contacts and events
This is one and here is another one

On Mac, you can go to Address Book on your Mac -> Card -> Look for Duplicates -> Merge

  23. DH says:
